SOFTWARE
DEVELOPMENT KIT
Software kits
for evaluation and development purposes are available, on a variety of
processor/OS platforms, and provide the following functions:
Iris image quality metrics (to determine if image is of acceptable quality for enrolment, verification or identification)
Iris image normalisation (segments
the iris texture and outputs a rectilinear, pre-processed and normalised image ready for feature extraction)
Iris image enrolment function (determines feature vectors and enrols into database)
Iris image match function (1:1 verification)
Iris image identify function (1:Many identification against input database)
"Match" and "Identify" give Weighted Hamming Distance scores, and in the case of "Identify", also gives a list of nearest neighbours.
Input image: bitmap image
up to 1280 x 960 pixels from iris camera, 8-bit greyscale, containing all normal facial structures around the eye: eyelids, lashes, sclera, iris, pupil.
